Many of our manifestations of “faith” keep us committed to a commitment to our own status quo. Faith is seen as something that leaves us alone; that allows us to be our old flawed, broken selves. Jesus however, blows that up when he likens discipleship to being branches on a vine; branches that produce fruit; branches that will be pruned to make them stronger. Faith is really about the spiritual transformation we allow God to work in us as we cross the barrier from what we are to what God wants us to become: disciples created in the image of love.
