After 497 years, isn’t it time to stop observing Reformation Sunday? Nope. Not until a vengeful, list-making, account-keeping god is no longer proclaimed; not until everyone knows the are loved by God; not until we have warmed to God’s cross-shaped embrace enough to love God back through our praying, Bible-reading, serving and giving. We all need to be loved and need somebody to love back. That someone is Jesus.
