Fear is a way of life for us. Today we are afraid of terrorists and refugees, warfare in faraway places and violence on our own streets. On any given day, we can be overcome by the fear of not having enough and having too much. We fear aging and fear the only alternative – death. Politicians and advertisers play on our fears to gain our support and sales. Scripture teaches that fear is the opposite of faith. In this sermon Jeremiah and Jesus offer a different way of living in the face of threats.
